Venice High School
Venice Senior High School, located on the Island of Venice in Sarasota County, FL next to Venice Elementary School, is a beautiful campus and ranks highly in the county and state. Venice High offers Career Technical Education in PC Support, Health Options, Digital Design, Early Childhood, Culinary Arts, Engineering and Business Entrepreneurial pathways, as well as several Advanced Placement and Duel-Enrollment classes for college credit opportunities, and STEM-focused classes. VHS's MCJROTC program is "a vital and well-respected part of the school", producing respectful young leaders of and for the USA. VHS offers the IB (International Baccalaureate) program to high-achieving young scholars, especially those looking to attend an international university where an IB graduate certificate may be necessary for acceptance.
VHS offers the Rotary Futures Program which "assists students with postsecondary planning, college applications, and scholarship acquisition, and has obtained millions of dollars in scholarships for its students." Another notable program offered at VHS is the Executive Internship program which gives students hands-on experience within different career paths, and can earn them college credits or career-based certifications; mentors in this program come from the industries of medical doctoring, nursing, veterinarian, radiology, engineering, a variety of businesses, accounting, culinary, tourism and more.
Venice also has a fantastic football team and many other sports programs. Go Indians!
