Sarasota County Schools always rank well across many categories, and keep in mind Sarasota is the name of the City, the unincorporated township, and the County combined - so often Sarasota gets compared to very small areas such as St. Augustine for excellent schools, but the Sarasota County School area is much larger and still competes extremely well and ranks very high.
Sarasota County Schools score very well across a broad spectrum of searches, have IB, AP, Gifted, STEM/STEAM, and Magnet school programs, as well as excellent sports programs, and great diversity. Sarasota has been consistent and secure in raking high in the state of Florida. Notably, Parents' involvement can certainly also have a noticeable impact on an already well-established School's ranking. One Parent really can make a difference in the quality of a student's scholarly experience - volunteer for a day, participate in Parent-Teacher nights, get involved with fundraising or team events. Happiness is an inside job, and getting involved can enable you to see your kids light up, their classmates light up, and their School light up (in turn making you light up). A School's ranking can vary, and Parent involvement can become a strong turning point, so get involved and give your kid the 5-star school you want them to have.
