Bay Haven K-5 School of Basics Plus, located in North Downtown Sarasota, FL, and West of Trail, is a nationally recognized "Blue Ribbon School" (National School of Merit), is a "5-Star School", and is a "Golden School Award" winner with an A rating from the Florida Department of Education. Bay Haven is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and was designed in 1926 with twin school design of Southside Elementary School by architect M. Leo Elliott; Elliott is known for designing four now historic school buildings in Sarasota, Florida- such as the 1926 former Sarasota High School building, now known at the Sarasota Art Museum of Ringling College. Bay Haven has a highly committed community of staff and parents that provides a "highly structured environment" with a "waiting list that is a strong indicator of their success" which students must apply for to attend.
