The Legacy Trail is an ever-expanding recreational trail that spans from Venice in Sarasota County to Downtown Sarasota. This trail currently spans over 18 miles from the Historic Venice Train Depot at the South starting point up to Fruitville Road just North of Payne Park in Downtown Sarasota, and has 16 trailheads with free parking, some even with BBQ Grills and pavilions! This trail makes biking, walking, running, skating, and scooting a great way to travel through the County and catch some beautiful natural Florida scenery along the way!
